Janet Devlin
Janet – Lady Gaga and Queen Week
After last week’s shaky performance this week in X Factor was always going to be a tough one for our favourite Irish singer. Janet has always felt most comfortable doing songs of her own style however during rock week last week she was forced to try something new. Sadly the performance didn’t go down as well as it could have with the judges and so we knew this week would be nerve wracking for the shy teenager.
On top of this the departure of one of the boys in the competition Frankie Cocozza also shook things up a bit and put a different slant on the competition. This week it was a battle between 4 ex contestants (Amelia Lily, JonJo, James Michael and Two Shoes) to see who would win a place back in the competition and be allowed to perform. Amelia Lily won with 48% of the vote and gave a spell bounding performance on Saturday night – which is bound to have got many of the contestants worried.
However Janet gave a fantastic performance this week with her version of “Somebody To Love”, which she slowed right down, stripped back and sang magnificently. She had rave reviews from each of the judges except Gary who accused her of being boring and predictable. That said Janet sailed through to next week and completely avoided being in the bottom 2. It isn’t surprising really as the vocals in her performance were fantastic and she really gave her all, as well as making the song her own and showing us (once again) why she completely deserves her chance to be in the show!
We are reaching the interesting and exciting part of the competition now where everyone has a chance to win and everyone is giving fantastic performances each and every week. We know that our pretty Irish poptart has it in her to win and we’re behind her all the way. We’re very excited about what she has to offer for the rest of the competition and can’t wait to see what she brings for future weeks.
Janet Devlin – Dance Week

Dance week was never going to be easy for Janet, who is always comfortable seeing ballads and slower songs. So when the theme was announced and everyone was to sing something up-tempo it was obvious that it was always going to be Janets hardest week.
On top of this, a few days before it was announced that 2 people were due to be eliminated this weekend, in a bid to increase ratings for the ITV talent show. However this really put the pressure on contestants who all knew they had to run their game in order to ensure that they were safe.
The judges have been on at Janet to come out of her comfort zone and try something different, which she did with her version of the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back”. After the performance Tulisa Contostavlos admitted: “I know I put pressure on you saying I’d like to see you do something up-tempo, but I’m starting to see that you’ve kind of got your own style and it’s unique. Watching you do something else tonight made me think you should stick to what you know. You looked a bit uncomfortable.”
It probably wasn’t helped that Janet forgot some of the words, although the talented vocalist made a fantastic recovery and pulled off the rest of the song brilliantly.
It was the first week that Janet didn’t receive rave reviews from the judges and Janet was visibly upset at the fact that the judges didn’t love her performance. On a week where there was 2 acts to be voted out, the wait to Sunday must have been a long way.
Thankfully the Janet Devlin fan base is strong and the pretty Irish teenager was voted through to sing another week, in a vote which saw Jonny Robinson and boyband The Risk sent home.
We’re as always excited to see what Janet has to offer for the rest of the competition, but we’re excited to see what Ms Devlin has up her sleeve for the rest of the talent show, which looks set to shake things up and get interesting shortly!
Janet – Halloween Week
For the girls category in this competition, this week has not been easy. Mentor and judge Kelly Rowland has been unwell and therefore returned to America. A throat infection meant that Kelly was unable to be at the show – which saw previous show winner Alexandra Burke replace her. For some of the girls, the lack of mentor showed – as Sophie and Misha B were both in the bottom 2 this week. Kelly is always a very proactive judge, and so a week without her must have been tough however Janet was ever the professional and once again had a flawless week.
Janet looked amazing during her performance of “Every Breath You Take”, which saw her dressed in a gothic style wedding dress for the Halloween themed week. Janet once again won favour with the panel. “There’s something different about you tonight,” Tulisa said. “You look like you mean business.” Louis, meanwhile, described the performance as “haunting”.
This week must have not been easy for Janet – not only was mentor Kelly not present but there have been various rumours in the media this week – surrounding kidnap plots and even her closeness to fellow contestant Frankie Cocozza.
This week saw Sophie voted off, which leaves Janet and Misha B as the only two girls left in the competition, which Janet being the only girl that hasn’t appeared in the bottom two.
We don’t yet know what future theme weeks are going to be – however so far Janet has taken each week in her stride. It is this on stage confidence and capability which has helped to make Janet so popular, and probably is the reason why she is still one of the favourites to win the ITV show this Christmas.
We love Janet and we have every confidence in her doing well, we’re just excited to see what else she has in store for us and what else the talent show has up their sleeves for this Irish teenager and the rest of the finalists in the ITV talent show.
Janet Devlin – Week 3

Although she is favourite to win the talent show, Janet still isn’t getting the easiest of rides in this talent competition. This week saw footage of her meeting some journalists as part of a small press conference.
These journalists questioned Janet about being boring and whether she felt she had the right personality to win the show. Janet thankfully showed her feisty side by putting them right and telling them that she has made it this far being ‘her’ and she doesn’t intend to change for anyone.
Rock week could very well have been a worrying week for Janet fans. Janet is known for her unique voice and possibly meek stage presence, so you would have been forgiven for worrying how she would cope with such a lively theme week.
However Janet did herself, Kelly Rowland and all her fans proud by belting out a unique version of Sweet Child Of Mine. As rock songs go, Sweet Child Of Mine is probably one of the most popular and well known, with loads of different versions by different artists. Janet decided to go a different route with her version of the song by making it truly unique.
Opting to slow the song down and make it a rock power ballad, she really showed many of the contestants how it should be done. She looked the part with big make up and big hair, that she really ruled the stage from the moment she stepped on it.
This week saw the over 25s suffer the most, with 2 of Louis’ contestants in the bottom 2, which saw Sami sent home despite a flawless version of ‘Natural Woman’.
The theme for next week has yet to be announced, however we remain excited to see what Janet is going to offer. We feel confident in her abilities, knowing that if she can handle rock week she can handle anything, so we know that whatever is thrown at her, she’ll take in her stride and do us proud and hopefully make it through to the final show!
Janet Devlin – Week 2
Thanks to another show stopping performance this week Janet has secured herself on the top of the ‘favourites to win’ pile once again. The shy teenager has proved once again that you don’t need swagger and you don’t need to be the loudest person to get audience votes.
The theme of this weeks show was “Love & Heartache”, which must have been a tough call for the pretty Irish teenager. Earlier on in the week Janet learnt of the devastating news that her granddad had passed away. Obviously she was distraught however she didn’t let this send her off track and she still gave a faultless performance. Her version of Elvis Presleys “Cant Help Falling In Love With You” got rave reviews from the judges and the audience reaction proved that Janet is clearly loved.
Janet is one of the girls in the competition that gets the attention of the media for the right reasons. She isn’t plagued with rumours of being a bitch and their isn’t gossip websites claiming she is sleeping with other contestants. Instead the only thing that people can comment on is her voice – which is phenomenal.
Her faultless performances and consistent fantastic vocals have seen Janet catapulted to the top of the list and she is firmly the bookies favourite to win the ITV1 talent show. The only worry with that is whether she can keep up the performances throughout the next few weeks and continue to up her game.
However the pretty teenager has come too far to let anything stand in her way now and is determined to do well in the competition, so alongside her mentor Kelly Rowland is working hard to do everything that she can to ensure that her place in the talent show is safe and that she reaches the final. We have a few weeks to go yet but we have every faith in our Janet and know that she will do us proud throughout the next weeks of the competition and even beyond that.
Janet Deviln – Week 1

This weekend saw the biggest twist that the X Factor series has ever seen. Despite it only being the 1st week of the TV talent show we have already seen 4 peopled voted out, bringing the final tally down from 16 to 12 in one swoop.
There can be no denying that this years X Factor has been one of the most interesting yet – with a new judging panel and some real talent when it comes to the auditions, so this twist was just another way of keeping things exciting.
The audtionees were told last week that 4 would be going – 1 from each category chosen by their mentor live on Sunday night. Although all the judges had a tough decision but Kelly Rowland perhaps had it the hardest with each of the girls in her category giving faultless performances.
Each of the acts performed on Saturday night which saw Janet perform last, having to wait over 2 hours for her turn. However it was worth the wait as the talented Irish lass wow us with her version of Cold Plays “Fix You”. With a new style and new hair colour Janet has been tipped as the favourite to win the ITV1 talent show, which has only been made stronger by the quality of her performance this weekend.
Fix You was already a show in the forefront of many people’s minds due to Glee including it in their show this week, which will have been watched by many X Factor viewers and voters.
Janet’s unique vocal and dress style has her compared to previous X Factor contestant Diana Vickers although most would agree that Janet has a much more quality to her vocal which is why she is tipped to be crowed the X Factor 2011 winner.
Janet sailed through this stage of the competition, which saw mentor Kelly Rowland send home Amelia May after her opening act singing a Michael Jackson classic failed to beat the rest of the performances by the girls in this years competition.
Janet Devlin – Judges Houses

Despite being quiet and shy Janet has made quite an impression on this years X Factor right from her first audition. The Irish teenager wowed the judges and audience alike when she auditioned with her vision of “Your Song”.
Since then she has performed amazingly at every stage, being quote vocal about the fact that it is the most amazing time of her like.
Due to her flawless performances it came as no real surprise when she was announced as being part of the final 36. In the girls category meant that she is being mentored by Destinys Child singer Kelly Rowland.
The final 8 girls were jetted off to Miami as part of the judges houses round to perform in front of their mentor and a chosen helper. This year saw Dream Girls singer and previous American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson help out Kelly Rowland.
Janet was shown on our screens delivering a faultless version of Christina Aguilera’s hit Beautiful, and it looked like Kelly Rowland and her glamorous assistant Jennifer Hudson are impressed.
The quirky Irish teenager has been likened to previous X Factor contestant Diana Vickers and it seems that she is also destined to do well in the competition as on Sunday night we saw her sail through to the live finals of the TV talent show which start next weekend.
There can be no denying that Janet has an amazing voice and deserves her place in the final. The only concern some people has is her level of confidence and how shy the pretty teenager is. Hopefully this will give her the boost that she needs and she’ll soon be wowing us on a Saturday night.
There have been no announcements as to what the 1st theme is so we’re all waiting with baited breath to see what the talent show has to offer. We cant wait for Janet to do her thing Saturday night and sail her way through the rounds of this ever-popular ITV talent show and luckily we only have a few days to wait to get started.
Janet Devlin Boot Camp
This weekend saw the X Factor contestants take part in the hardest bootcamp of the TV show so far. In fact it was so tough that 1/3 of the singers were cut out of that stage of the competition before they even had a chance to sing again for the judges.
Luckily the judges have seen Janet’s raw talent and unbelievable vocal skill which has meant she sailed through to the last 32 of the show. She is now one of 8 girls in Kelly Rowland’s mentor group that is off to Miami to see if they make the cut for the live shows.
During boot camp saw Janet sing a solo version of “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”. She stated before she sang that the song were special to her and you could really see it in her performance, which received rave reviews from the judges and an amazing reaction from the live audience at Wembley.
Since then the 16 year old has been widely recognise throughout the media as the one to beat in this years version of the ITV1 talent show, which has seen a new look & a new judging panel.
Who Is Janet Devlin
The 16 year old has spent years perfecting her performance right down to her stage presence and her vocal ability. She has many different cover versions on You Tube of different big chart songs, including Adele’s Someone Like You which has received rave reviews.
The pretty Irish girl has reached the final 32 of the hit show and the rest remains to be seen as to whether she will reach the live shows. As it stands she is set to jet off to Miami to the home of mentor, Destinys Child singer Kelly Rowland.
